What is the Global Distribution System? GDS?

GDS is the worldwide system of 600,000 Travel Agents worldwide use to book travel through their computer systems. The 4 major systems are Sabre, Galileo, Amadeus and WorldSpan. Sabre and Galileo originate in the United States, while Amadeus is European and WorldSpan is based in the Orient. Together they encompass the global reach that the major hotel chains required to reach the majority of the traveling public.Top

What about the Cost?

The performance based per reservation cost is a percent plus a GDS fee, billed monthly after the traveller has stayed. If a Travel Agency commission is due, this will be billed.Top

 

Does online reservations work for small properties?

Yes, It simply allows someone to make a reservation based on availability information that you provide to the network into the GDS through our property interface. You can use this system from anywhere you are located.Top

 

I'm very busy, how much of my time will this take?

Not much. Our customer support team will assist you in learning to use the maintenance account, and help enter all of your property info. Once this is done, all you need to do is maintain the availability. That means, if you get a reservation from another source, just log in, enter the dates you want to close, and click save. This will update all agent terminals and websites using the GDS in just a few seconds.Top
